Emily Greenberg is a writer, editor, filmmaker, artist, and educator living in San Diego, California. Her first book, Alternative Facts, was the Runner-Up for the Acacia Fiction Prize and was published by Kallisto Gaia Press in January 2025.

Emily’s writing has appeared in the Iowa Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, McSweeney’s, Electric Literature, Witness, Chicago Quarterly Review, Big Fiction, New Stories from the Midwest, Santa Monica Review, and elsewhere. Her films and media artworks have also been shown at SIGGRAPH, ISEA, Smack Mellon, Sie Film Center, Art Share L.A., Screener Short Films, Columbus International Film & Animation Festival, Videobardo, Festival ECRA, and ICA San Diego. 

Emily holds an MFA in Creative Writing from The Ohio State University and an MFA in Visual Art from UC San Diego. She has taught at The Ohio State University, Columbus College of Art & Design, and University of California - San Diego. 

She currently edits short story and flash fiction collections for Split/Lip Press and the “Lest We Forget the Horrors” series for McSweeney’s.
